PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT
Children are assessed in two ways. Firstly, by teachers and secondly, by a system
of National Tests at the age of 7 and 11. These tests are known as Standard
Assessment Tests (SATs) and the results are reported to parents. Children in Year
1 are assessed through the phonic screening check in the summer term. The
Government expects teachers to use the Early Learning Goals for Reception age
children and the Assessment framework for Year 2 and Year 6. The results below
are our national test results from 2025.

Work is continually assessed, and books are marked regularly to check children’s
progress. The staff take samples of children’s work to look at achievement both
individually, across the class and across the school. This helps to ensure
progress and continuity. An annual report is given to parents at the end of each
academic year.
