Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs) are currently carried out when the
children have reached the end of a Key Stage; the government changed these
in 2016. At Blanford Mere this will be towards the end of Year 2 and Year 6,
although teacher assessment of the children’s progress is ongoing throughout
their time with us.

The Curriculum at Blanford Mere

We aim to provide the children with a broad and balanced curriculum
appropriate to their individual needs. To achieve this aim we are constantly
reviewing the way in which we teach so that the children are provided with
interesting and challenging tasks. All subjects of the National Curriculum are
taught according to government guidelines. In order to allow children to reach
their full potential we sometimes place them in appropriate teaching groups.
