GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition

Not only will this course teach you about essential life skills, catering and the hospitality sector, it will allow
you to develop a knowledge of nutrition, health and well-being. It can also lead to further studies or
experience in:
• Nutrition and Health Studies
• Hospitality and Catering
• Food Science and Technology
• Sports related courses where nutrition is key
• Consumer Management
• Tourism
• Early Years, Youth and Community Work

Is there anything else I need to know?
At KS4 you will be expected to wear chef’s whites, a hat and apron when taking part in practical activities. You will
also be required to bring ingredients for all your practical lessons, in order to gain experience of the essential skills
that are required for the course.
