A message from Mrs Jordan...
Thorns Primary School is on a journey. This document outlines how we have
addressed, and continue to address, areas for improvement as identified through
our data, self-evaluation and external feedback. Since 2020, a lot has been put in
place and we have made many significant changes to a number of aspects of
school. Some of the actions—or ‘tactics’ (Campbell, 2015) - are better embedded
than others (COVID lockdowns and continual disruption since have slowed progress
and limited the impact and effectiveness to date of some actions). However, we
have high expectations and continually strive to turn our shared vision into a
reality, but we know this does not happen over night. By nurturing and growing
the most valuable resource we have—our staff—we will endeavour to provide the
local community with a primary school they can be truly proud of and where they
can be confident of their children’s lifelong learning getting off to a great start.
