Starting Nursery School Child’s

Parents meetings

After you have accepted a place, you will be
invited to a parents meeting to introduce you
to school and a parent interview for parents/
carers, where you will have the opportunity to
talk to your child’s room staff.

Parents Workshop

You will be invited to a parents workshop before your child
starts school. You willalso be required to sign a Parental
Agreement

Child’s Settling-in period

 New children are introduced to school gradually;
all children will start part time. Due to Covid 19
measures most parents will be asked to go
home and staff will phone parents to keep them
updated on how their child is settling in. We
don’t put a time scale on this as children take
varying amounts of time to feel happy about
being left.

 Please be guided by the staff’s experience and
don’t try to rush things.

 When you have handed your child over to the
care of staff, please go as soon as you have said
"goodbye".Always say good-bye before you
leave .

 You will be asked to return at a specific time.
Please keep to this time.

 The length of time your child spends in the nursery
will be gradually increased until he/she settles in
and makes friends. Please remember it is im-
portant your child attends each day if he/she is to
develop good relationships with staff and children
and benefit from the education we offer.
