ARRANGEMENTS FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
AND COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
Religious Education is taught according to the Dudley agreed syllabus; which was agreed by
representatives of the Local Education Authority, teachers, Christian Churches and other
faiths. It is broadly Christian in content but offers children experience of a broad range of
faiths. If parents wish to withdraw their children they should consult the Head Teacher so
that alternative arrangements can be made.
SEX AND RELATIONSHIP POLICY
Sex and Relationship Education is part of the whole curriculum and is not taught in isolation as
something different. Under the terms of the 1986 Education Act it is the duty of the Governing
Body to be responsible for the policy for the control of the content and organisation of sex
education in school. Details of the school’s policy in this area of the curriculum may be obtained
from the Head Teacher or a school governor. Parents have a right to withdraw their children
from these lessons
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
• Children have the opportunity to participate in after-school sports activities, some of
which are arranged by sports coaches, whilst others are run by members of staff –
cricket, football, dance, street dance, multi-sport skills, gymnastics, choir. and jewellery
making.
• Visits to the school are arranged on a regular basis, they include Animal Lecture Service,
Theatre Groups, Road Safety Officers, and representatives of various charities who explain
their work, Musical Performances, Artists, and Storytellers etc.
• All classes go on regular trips as part of their curriculum
• The school also runs an annual residential field trip for Year 6 children
