PUPIL PREMIUM

This is a budget allocation made by Government to help pupils on free school meals. We
spend our allocation on small group support – particularly in phonics, reading and
writing. This has enabled pupils on Free School Meals to make good progress across the
            school.

We provided the following additional support to help pupils receiving FSM/Pupil Premium:

                • Maths Booster Groups – Yr2, Yr3, Yr4, Yr6
                • Reading Support Yr2, Yr3, Yr4
                • Individual reading support
                • Writing Booster Groups
                • Learning Support Service
                • Additional Education Psychology support
                • One to one tuition
                • Behaviour / Self-esteem Support

In addition to this extra provision we provide daily small group-based phonics lessons across
Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and small group guided writing for all pupils in Foundation
Stage in order to ensure basic reading and writing skills are developed early in the child’s life.

This year our allocation for the academic year 2016-2017 will be used in a similar way to last
            – that is, providing additional support and booster work, additional therapy work from Speech
and Language Therapists. We will also be using part of the funding for professionals to
            attend training regarding individual needs.

“Pupils feel safe in school. They are eager to learn and attend regularly.” - Ofsted
            report March 2017
